Harmony for the Future: United Nations and Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) joined for Lasting Growth in West Africa

The Federal government of Côte d’Ivoire, with the Ministry of Economic Situation, Preparation and Growth, introduced the yearly conference of the Regional Online Forum of Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) of West Africa on June 10th, in Abidjan, on the motif: “Strengthening the harmony of activities to increase local combination and lasting growth in West Africa in a context of several obstacle”.

This conference, which was held from June 10 -11 2024, was arranged by the United Nations Economic Compensation for Africa, Sub-Regional Workplace for West Africa (UNECA-SRO-WA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Situation, Preparation and Growth of Côte d’Ivoire.

The purpose of this Regional Online forum was mainly to enhance the collaboration for lasting growth in between the entities of the United Nations system stood for by the ECA and the Workplace of the Homeowner Planner of the Cream Color Shore on the one hand, and West African IGOs on the various other.

In his speech at the opening event, Mr. Phillipe Lasmel, Supervisor General of Growth Collaboration at the Ministry of Economic Situation, Preparation and Growth, specified that “regardless of the financial development made by nations in the sub-region, they will certainly not have the ability to satisfy the 2030 SDGs targets”.
